Dr. Catherine Fiorillo is a compassionate and highly skilled General Surgeon, specializing in Endoscopic Surgery for weight management and overall health transformation. At her Doctor’s office she offers a unique approach to weight loss through her comprehensive RPI (Result-Process-Identity) program. This program goes beyond traditional methods, guiding patients through a holistic journey that reshapes not only their bodies but their habits and identities, focusing on lasting health and self-confidence.

Dr. Fiorillo completed her medical degree at the Universidad Libre de Barranquilla and advanced training at the Universidad de Concepción, Chile. With over 8 years of experience, she is known for her expertise in minimally invasive techniques like endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty and the Allurion gastric balloon, procedures that reduce risks by avoiding incisions and promoting a gentle yet effective approach to weight loss.

Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty

Endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty is a new type of minimally invasive weight loss procedure. In endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty, a suturing device is inserted through the throat and passed down to the stomach. The endoscopist then makes sutures in the stomach to make it smaller. This procedure may be an option if you are significantly overweight (a body mass index of 29 or higher) and diet and exercise have not been successful for you.
Like other weight loss procedures, endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty requires a commitment to a healthier lifestyle. You must make permanent healthy changes to your diet and exercise regularly to ensure long-term success with endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty.

Gastric Balloon

It is a durable gastric balloon made of soft silicone, which can remain in the stomach for between six and twelve months. Its volume facilitates the intake of smaller and healthier food portions, and its technology and design help to lose up to three times more weight in patients than with diet and exercise alone.

Allurion Ingestible Balloon

The Allurion balloon induces weight loss by increasing the feeling of satiety, delaying gastric emptying, and reducing the amount of food ingested at each meal.
The patient ingests a capsule containing the balloon attached to a thin tube. A radiograph is performed to ensure that the capsule is in the correct position.
Once in the stomach, the doctor uses the tube to fill the balloon with liquid. Another radiograph is taken to confirm that the balloon is filled. After about 16 weeks after placement, the Allurion balloon empties itself and is eliminated.
