Facial Plastic Surgery

The face has been the subject of inspiration and reference for many artists and facial aesthetic surgeons. Beauty standards, measurements, and structural concepts have been established, encompassing the idea of an ideal face. By interpreting the face from a critical point of view, we can highlight the characteristics and anatomical features unique to each individual. Therefore, there is no single anatomical pattern for the face.

Facial Rejuvenation

Wrinkles and skin folds on the face are the result of the natural evolution of the aging process. Other factors such as sun and environmental exposure play an important role in premature manifestations of photoaging.

Facial rejuvenation aims to refresh a drooping and heavy face. To address facial aging, surgery is primarily emphasized, where we treat sagging and excess skin through an incision or strategically positioned cut in the peri-auricular region (around the ear), done in this way to offer adequate scar camouflage.

Additionally, procedures such as facial volumization with hyaline implants or volume replacement with fat micro-grafts may be associated, obtained through a detailed evaluation of the patient, based on their needs and physiognomy.

Wrinkles and deep furrows, depending on their intensity, can be alleviated with the use of botulinum toxin or, in cases that require it, LASER may be indicated, offering a more nourished and fresh appearance to the face.

Brow Lift

As the years go by, the eyebrows undergo positional deterioration or descent, presenting alterations in their positioning and shape.

The most common finding is a drop at the brow angle, which visually translates into a look of exhaustion and fatigue. This complaint is more common in women, although this event occurs equally in both sexes.

The configuration of the eyebrow can change the expression of the face and denote certain moods.

Eyebrow rejuvenation or lifting can be achieved through less invasive procedures, such as the use of botulinum toxin for mild cases. In cases of greater severity, brow suspension or lifting would be better indicated, either transcutaneously or through direct vision by video- endoscopic technique.
Frontoplasty through a pre-pilose incision (pre-capillary line) or coronal incision, which can also be a treatment option.

Eyelid Surgery

The correction of wrinkles and skin folds on the face is the result of the natural evolution of the aging process. Other factors such as sun and environmental exposure play an important role in premature manifestations of photoaging.

Nose Surgery

It aims to correct or repair any defect in the nose, whether functional or aesthetic. The nose, as the main point of interest on the face due to its projection and central location, plays an important role in facial harmony and, primarily, in facial aesthetics.

To treat this structure, there are mainly 2 types of approaches:

Closed Rhinoplasty

It refers to the approach to the nose through small incisions inside the nasal mucosa, therefore without visible incisions or external stitches.

Structured Rhinoplasty (open rhinoplasty)

It is a suitable treatment for correcting alterations in the shape or arrangement of nasal bones and cartilages, with the aim of providing adequate harmony in relation to the format of each face. Ideal for correcting complaints about the shape of the nasal tip or more complex cases.
It is performed through an external incision, resulting in a barely perceptible scar and adequate aesthetics.

Otoplasty

The surgical correction of prominent ears (ears that stick out) is a procedure that is on the rise. Its frequent pursuit due to ill-intentioned indications by third parties or bullying motivates the patient to seek a solution to this complaint. This situation can be unilateral or bilateral, meaning it can affect one or both ears.
With a repair component, Otoplasty seeks to improve the shape of the ear, giving it a natural appearance closer to what the patient desires. Usually, this is achieved through an incision behind the ear to avoid stigmatizing scars and offer a natural result.

Buccal Fat Removal

Commonly known as cheek reduction surgery. It consists of resecting a deposit of fat or adipose structure called “buccal fat pad,” which may be increased in size, causing herniation and protrusion of the same, resulting in a fuller facial appearance. This surgery aims to shape and refine the face, providing a more stylized and elongated appearance.
